Nelumbo nucifera or Sacred Lotus is an aquatic perennial with flat or concave-circular, wavy-margined, glaucous, mid-green leaves, 80cm across, on stalks to 2m long. Peony-like, sometimes double, pink or white flowers, to 30cm across, are produced in summer on long stalks with short, fleshy prickles.
Make sure to place plant basket in water pond or larger basket so leaves can float. Min 40cm depth of water required.
