Strelitzia Reginae is a flowering plant indigenous to South Africa. Commonly known as bird of paradise, Or crane flower, though these names are also collectively applied to other species in the Genus Strelitzia. It is the national flower of Madeira, Portugal since 2005. White Bird of Paradise grows to a very significant size and caution should be taken when choosing a location to plant. The “bird shaped” flowers appear in summer and are white with purple.
